Loyalty

If there's a reason to, I try to have some sense of loyalty on a company that produces a product or renders a service. As in the case of my kwento, on a bank. About 7 years ago, my favored bank was iBank. I loved that bank so much, I even had my BPI accounts closed (transacting with the Ayala Alabang branch was just way too much of a hassle for me, plus the tellers weren't exactly friendly, especially the fat lady on counter 1... sige hanapin ninyo siya kung nandoon pa!). This may be a bit shallow, but I loved the iBank Ayala Alabang branch kasi meron silang piano player and a grand piano inside the branch. It was so bongga. And they serve coffee while you wait in the sofa until it's your turn to be served, instead of standing up in line for several minutes like in most banks. And when you get to talk to the accounts personnel, they make you feel that you're important. Probably this was part of their training.

"Balik na lang kayo bukas with the complete requirements."

So di ko na lang tinuloy. Tangina ang susuplada pa, ang papangit naman. As in! HELLER???

* inhale... exhale...

Tongino long.

Heniwey, as I was saying, I was a depositor at the iBank Alabang branch but because work was mostly in the Parañaque area, I opened another checking account at their BF Homes branch and that's where I met these 2 bank personnel who I always do my transactions with when I am there. NGUNIT SUBALIT DADAPWAT, iBank was later on bought by Union bank and because of this, nagpalit na din ang mga tao sa BF Homes branch. The 2 people I know from that branch resigned and the service I was getting from the new management was REALLY lousy. Tapos imagine, ilang months sila hindi nagdeliver sa akin ng bank statements during the migration period and when I tried to ask for copies of these bank statements, ako pa ang gusto nilang singilin for reprinting. Sobrang na turn-off talaga ako. I reopened an account with BPI pero yung sa may South Supermarket, para lang magkaroon ulit ako ng ATM account na madaling ma-access.

A few months later, I received a phone call from the 2 lady personel na kilala ko sa iBank telling me that they did resign and they're inviting me to deposit to their new bank which is also located in BF Homes. So mabilis pa sa natataeng baboy, I closed my iBank account, kumembot ng 1,000 steps 4 blocks away and opened a new account to this new bank on their inauguration day. I was surprised to know na 10 kaming new accounts na lumipat from Union Bank. I am fairly ok naman with the services and how I have been transacting with this bank. Nothing complicatied naman. For 3 or 4 years I've kept an active account with this bank.

Last month I learned that the 2 ladies resigned again, after 3 years, and moved to another relatively new bank with higher positions and presumably a better pay. My office received a brochure of their new bank's services. And this afternoon, as expected, I got a call from one of the ladies again inviting me to open a new account with them. With the kind of job that I have, my personal security is a consideration as to which bank I can open an account with. I gently declined the invite. Di rin naman pwedeng dahil lang sa lumipat sila ng ibang bangko, susunod naman ako. i don't think that's right. I have developed some sort of loyalty to my second bank mainly because I'm satisfied with it. As for the 2 ladies' case, I believe they wouldn't be able to establish a devotion to a company if they keep on jumping jobs. Siguro hindi sila satisfied with their previous company, they're nice ladies pero I don't think it's proper for them to drag their old clients to their new bank like an act of pirating. Walang pilitan. If I'm satisfied with my current bank, why should I make a switch kung ako pa ang mahihirapan because of distance.

And my point is...

We just had dinner at Cafe D'Asie at Bellevue Manila. The food is alright pero my gulay ang bagaaaaaaal ng service.

Little S'pore

It's thursday date night for boyfriend and I and for today, we went to this Singaporean resto in BF Homes Parañaque called Food de Sentosa.

* Kembot

We were led to this table na malapit sa door, pagkatapos kong pulutin ang panty ko (CHOZ!), dahil reserved daw for a party of 30 people yung kalahati ng place.

Bongga laaaaaaaaang.

The interiors isn't much to look at. Simple lang kung simple. But the owner is very friendly. He greets all the guests who come in. i'm guessing he's also the cook. And for the toy collectors out there, matutuwa kayo dahil they have some Tofu Oyako figurines on display and they're also for sale!

* Ching!

For our appetizer, we had Roti Bread with Curry. The serving is enough for 2 people not to get too full before they get to the main dishes. So kumbaga, KERI LANG 'TE. That's just me, ok? For gulay, we ordered their version of Adobong Kang Kong with Bagoong. Honestly, I hate bagoong. As in AYHEYTIT with HARUMPHPHPHPH. But this one tasted GEWD. Mega tadtad siya with taba ng baboy for flavor. Ahahaha ahaha. When you say Singaporean food, Hainanese chicken comes to mind, yes? So we ordered that as well. We ordered the medium size serving that comes with 2 cups of yummy yellow rice that taste like aroz caldo (or mild luya.... WHICHEVER!). Masarap siya (both the chicken and the rice), So pang 2 persons talaga siya. And lastly, we had the satay beef which I had requested to tone down the spice. It was good quality beef so it was masarap! I'm not very adventurous when it comes to food but maybe next time i can try the not so familiar items on the menu. I can definitely agree to visiting again kung magyaya man si boyfriend.

Pero for now, ibang restaurants in BF na muna. Mahaba ang Aguirre Avenue. :)

Pucha. Napabilib ako sa kanya. Heto, panoorin ninyo.

Ching-ching-ching-ka-ching!

Actually, lagi namang EB lang ang usapan. Pero kung may maramdamang something-something, eh di go go power rangers, right?

So alam mo yun.

Walang relevance, I know. Chika lang. Medyo magulo ang kwarto ko. Pinagbintangan pa akong burara. Pakshet.

Go for gold!

Nagkwentuhan kami tungkol sa life-life. Tapos kung anu-ano pang pambobola. Ganun naman talaga kapak parehong torpe di ba?

AMININ!

Doc, my water.... bag... broke.

CHOZ.

Naglaplapan kami na para bang walang bukas. Nagyakapan kami ala Greta and Gardo Versoza. Nagtamblingan kami ala Rossana Roces and Leandro Baldebor. At nagbastusan kami ala Hayden and Katrina (hihihihi).

"I love you."

MEGANON??

For a monument, kinilig ako nang slight na kinda bonga but not so bonga. Ask ko sarili ko ISDIZIT? IZDIZRILYIT?

"Gago," sagot ko. Natawa siya. Natawa akong natawa siya. Aba putang ina ginu-good time ako ni mokong ah.

At doon, mga bata... Doon ko natutunan na isang very wrong... Very very wrong wrong na armas ang salitang... HAYLABYU.

Happy *cough cough* New Year

And speaking of matris, putcha talaga, bumondat ako. As in!

Rawr!

You know when you just had a vacation, kahit na super sandali lang, you'd have this "i miss" phase about it. As in my case, nami-miss ko ngayon yung Baguio trip. Baguio was dirty, congested, traffic and all. Pero ang nagustuhan ko lang naman was the weather and boyfriend's company (yeeheeee!). A week ago I took this picture from our hotel:

New Year's eve, I was at Country Club Drive with my dog, getting a better view of the fireworks.

So what do I love about 2010? Well, I re-discovered 2 things. Blogging and Twitter. Ahaha. They're funny! At ang iba, hotness! Yung iba, cuteness! At ang natitira, kembotness. LOL. I learn a lot from them. Mainly katarantaduhan. Ahaha. But they keep me entertained, kung may time man akong magbasa ng mga blogs. Dumami na rin ang Twitter friends ko. But I had to delete my old twitter account dahil na-infest ng mga spam. May ganung eksena pala sa Twitter?? Kaloka.

Last Sunday, I was with the boyfriend and had a few of my first purchases for the year from Greenhills:

- A kenkoy shirt of Justice League with Wonderwoman and her invisible jeep. You can also see Flash, Batman, Greenlantern, martian manhunter and Superman.
- Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable batteries for my Speedlite (500 pesos lang!).
- And a JJC lens hood for my 18-200mm for 600 pesos that is 1/3 for of the price of an original Canon lens hood.

It wasn't a good start for some, though. A high school batchmate of mine died last December 30 in his sleep. Probably had a heart attack. I visited the wake yesterday morning. It was a quick visit and had a little chat with his brother. It was sad. Pero napansin kong iba ang atmosphere. It wasn't heavy. My impression is that family and friends accepted what had happened. Which is something positive. Drew and I were not close. Lalo na after high school. Alabang isn't a big place. And so is ATC. Hehe. On his casket, there was this group picture of his barkada na kilala ko. It was taken when we were in Grade 7 during an over night retreat. According to Drew's brother it was brought by his friend Francis and at natawa naman ako kasi nakasama pala ako sa picture na yun. Gitnang-gitna pa. I was skinny and had so much hair!

I laughed.

Right now I'm home. Nursing a flu. My first bed rest for the year. Hopefully, hindi ako ganito for the rest of the year. And this is what I also said last year so yeah, good luck to me on that.

*cough cough*
